About Prem

With a research and teaching experience of more than 26 years at Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi and University of Delhi, Prem Kumari Srivastava, Associate Professor of English at Maharaja Agrasen College, University of Delhi is currently on deputation as Programme Coordinator (Humanities) to Cluster Innovation Centre, University of Delhi, India. Her academic interest and published research in Cultural Studies, American Studies, English Language materials production, e-learning and theology; and creative writing (poems and stories) in books and eminent journals (Indian Literature, South Asian Diaspora, Muse India and Studies in Canadian Literature to name a few) display an overarching focus on gender, the popular and the indigenous. An editor and a translator, Prem is a recipient of many fellowships/post doctoral fellowships and awards including the prestigious 'Salzburg Global Seminar Fellow-2014' and ‘Shastri Fellow-2010’ awarded by SICI India and D'Fait Canada. Her recent publications are Leslie Fiedler: Critic, Provocateur, Pop Culture Guru (2014) McFarland & Co. Inc. Publishers, North Carolina, USA; two co-edited volumes Cultures of the Indigenous: India and Beyond (2014) and De-territorialising Diversities: Literatures of the Indigenous and Marginalised (2014)by Authorspress, New Delhi; and Co-edited and Co-authored book Language, Literature and Creativity (2013), Orient Blackswan and University of Delhi, New Delhi. Her poetry anthology Standing by the Wayside (2014) is  brought out by Poetryspace, Bristol, Great Britain.
